TrackMania Open FullSpeed Rulebook

Registration

  1. Players need to sign up on https://trackmaniaopen.com/fullspeed-cup/registration/
  2. Registration is open, but not required during the Qualification Phase. It is, however, mandatory for players moving on to the Playoff Phase. The deadline to register is the 23rd of May.

Communication

  2. Platform for communication is the tournaments Discord server here
  3. Contact persons are the Admins of the tournament which can be reached on the Discord server:

Structure of the Tournament

  1. Qualification stage – the goal of the qualification stage is to achieve the highest possible server rank over all maps
    • The qualification stage will last for 7 days
    • 3 maps will be played
    • Time Attack mode
    • 18 minutes per map
    • Map restart/skip disabled to secure even playtime over all 3 maps
  1. Playoff stage – the playoff stage will feature two phases. To reach phase 1 of the playoff stage, you must finish in the top 96 in the qualification stage
    • The playoff phase will last for 5 weeks
    • 3 new maps will be played each week
    • Phase 1 of playoffs
      • Top 96 players from the qualification stage enter the first round
      • Map order will be randomized
      • 1v1v1v1v1v1 Cup mode
      • 4 rounds per map + 1 warm up round
      • Respawn disabled
      • Point distribution 12,8,6,5,4,3
      • 121 points to reach finalist, after which you must finish 1st again to win
      • Played until 4 winners
      • Top 4 players of each match advance to the 2nd phase of the playoffs
    • Phase 2 of playoffs
      • Map order will be randomized
      • Single elimination match tree
      • 1v1v1v1 Cup mode
      • 4 rounds per map + 1 warm up round
      • Respawn disabled
      • Point distribution 10,6,4,3
      • 126/131/136/141 points to reach finalist, after which you must finish 1st again to win
      • Played until 2 winners
      • Top 2 players of each match advance to the next week’s match
  1. Final – to reach the final, you must finish in the top 2 in every match until there are only 4 players left
    • The final is a single match on a date and time that best fits the majority of the players and the tournament staff
    • 3 new maps and 2 selected from the previous map pools, for a total of 5 maps
      • Map order will be randomized
      • 1v1v1v1 Cup mode
      • Respawn disabled
      • 4 rounds per map + 1 warm up round
      • Point distribution 10,6,4,3
      • 161 points to reach finalist, after which you must finish 1st again to win
      • Played until 3 winners

Maps

  1. Deadline for map submission is the 4th of May
  2. Authors of maps selected for the tournament must be responsive to communication from the staff for a timely map release and in case of needing to make changes to a map
  3. The evaluation will be shared with those interested after the final set of maps has been released

Before the Match

  1. Players are responsible for participating in the organization of their matches
    • The default time for all playoff matches is 2000 CEST on Sundays
    • The match can be moved no more than 2 days before or 6 days after the default match time
  2. Matches can only be moved if all match participants agree with the move
    • Players that have not responded to the match organization will be ignored
    • In case of complete disagreement of when a match should be played, matches are to be played at default time
  3. The time and date for the final will be organized independently, with input from the players in the final and the organizers
    • A reasonable date and time for the match must be found, that is, no moving the final for multiple weeks

Match Procedure

  1. Server settings for playoff phases and final match
    • Cup mode
    • Randomized map pool
    • 4 rounds per map + 1 warm up
    • Respawn disabled
    • 12,8,6,5,4,3 playoff phase 1, 10,6,4,3 playoff phase 2 and final
    • 121/126/131/136/141 for playoffs, 161 points in final, with finalist mode enabled
    • 4 winners for phase 1 of playoffs, 2 winners for phase 2 of playoffs
    • 4 seconds finish time for phase 1 of playoffs, 2 seconds finish time after the first finisher for phase 2 of playoffs and final
  2. Matches are to start no later than 15 minutes after the set date and time, regardless of player presence
    • Even if only 2 players come to the match, a 1st and 2nd place must be determined
  3. In case of player disconnections or technical difficulties, the round can be finished by the other players and will count. However, you need to give the missing player(s) 5 minutes time to reconnect, after which you may continue the match without the player(s)
  4. Basic in-match etiquette should be followed
    • No chat during rounds for reasons other than informing the other players of technical difficulties
    • No flaming the other players
    • No excessive spamming
    • No cutting of the maps

After the Match

  1. Results of the matches should be reported by at least one of the players and screenshots/ VODs are recommended, in case of disputes
    • Players are responsible for ensuring that the results reported are accurate
  2. In case of conflicting reports and inconclusive or missing evidence, the match result may be voided and further action will be decided by the admins

Penalties

  1. If a player misses a match and is unable to renegotiate another time to play with the other players, she/he is eliminated from the tournament
  2. Cutting any of the maps in a way that is deemed detrimental to the spirit of the competition by the admins will result in immediate elimination from the current and, possibly, any future TMO tournaments
    • Cutting during any of the phases of the tournament is disallowed
    • Cutting from another account or on a different server that is connected to dedimania will result in immediate elimination from the current and, possibly, any future TMO tournaments
  3. Under normal conditions, strict rules on conduct between players outside of the matches will not be enforced
    • In case of excessive or extreme conditions the admins should be informed. Punishment may or may not be issued based on the evidence provided
  4. All complaints and concerns should be handled through TK on discord (tk#6645). Each case will be handled separately and updates or changes to the rules can be made.
